COMMON QUESTIONS

What should I expect if I come to BNC?

You will be greeted by people who really care about you. In worship, our first priority is to be centered on God as we enter His presence. There will be singing, scripture reading, a Biblical based message, and opportunity to respond. We are an intergenerational congregation. A priority in our worship is to remember how God has moved through His people in the past and remain open to a fresh wind of the Holy Spirit among us. The worship service is relaxed and informal.

We offer Sunday School for all ages plus small group opportunities on Sunday and throughout the week. Children’s Church is offered during the worship service. We hope to see you on Sunday!

What is offered for children?

Great question and we are glad that you asked it! Sunday mornings we offer Sunday School for all ages, broken down into Pre-K to Kindergarten, 1st grade to 4th grade, 5th grade to 12th grade, and for the littlest ones we offer a nursery during the Sunday School just like we do during the worship service. Speaking of the worship service, we offer time things for the kids as well. Nursery remains open during the duration of the worship service, but right after we do our morning announcements we dismiss kids from ages 3 to 10 to their own Kids’ worship service we call Children’s Church. During Children’s Church, kids enjoy a small snack, completing activities and games, and most importantly learning about God’s Word.

Throughout the year we also offer a variety of activities such as Vacation Bible School in the summer and Family Fall Fun Day in October. Keep connected with us as we continue to offer more for children and their families.

What will the music be like?

Worshipping God with music is an important part of our service. Most of the time, lyrics are projected on a large screen. We have a blended worship service in which we sing a mix of hymns and contemporary worship songs, led by a worship team and accompanied by our musicians.

What is the style of dress?

We encourage you to come as you are! Whether you are comfortable in dress clothes, casual, or jeans, our focus is that you are able to worship The Lord and receive His word.

What should I bring?

A Bible if you have one. If not, don’t worry, we have some stashed in the pews that you can use.

What kind of teaching can I expect?

We are a Bible-based church, meaning that we fully believe the Bible is truth and the true word of God and that truth remains just as relevant in our lives and culture today as it has in the past and will in the future. Our sermons are Bible-driven, practical, and authentic. No matter where you are in your Christian walk, there is something to gain from each sermon. For those who enjoy taking notes to follow along, sermon notes are found each week in our church bulletin. We also make it easy to follow along with sermon slides which are displayed on screens behind our pastor, as well as notes that are in our weekly bulletins.

Do I have to make a donation?

Visitors are our guests. We are less concerned about what you’re giving and more concerned about what you are getting when you are here.

Will I be singled out?

We will not embarrass you or ask you to do strange things. We want you to relax, be comfortable, and enjoy God’s Word. If you aren’t familiar with our music, don’t worry, we had to learn it too.
